Girl Scouting

Who We Are

Girl Scouts of the USA is the world’s preeminent organization for girls, with a membership of more than 3.5 million girls and adults. Today, as when founded in 1912, Girl Scouting helps cultivate values, social conscience and self-esteem in young girls, while also teaching them critical life skills that will enable them to succeed as adults.

The Girl Scouts of Birch Trails Council provides the Girl Scout program to nearly 4,00 girls and over 1,000 adults in 11 counties in Central Wisconsin: Forest, Lincoln, Langlade, Marathon, Oneida, Vilas, eastern Clark, eastern Iron, eastern Taylor, northwest Shawano and southeastern Price. All girls, Kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible for membership. Birch Trails is nationally recognized as a high  performing council. Out of 312 Girl Scout councils in the country, Birch Trails ranked No.30, serving 17.4 percent of the available girls in our jurisdiction.

How Girl Scouting Makes a Difference

  • Develops leadership skills
  • Encourages concern for others’ well-being
  • Improves the community through troop, service unit and council service projects

What Your Dollars Provide

$15  -  First Aid kit.
$44  -  National membership fee, uniform sash, and handbook for one girl who needs financial assistance.
$396  -  Financial assistance for four (4) girls to attend day camp.

Financial support for the Girl Scouts of Birch Trails program comes from income from the Annual Giving Campaign, the Family Partnership Campaign, program fees, legacies/bequests, council shop sales, investment income, product sales, United Way allocations and grants.

These income sources support membership services, fundraising, management services, council programs, camp programs & property. The cost of providing the Girl Scout program to each Birch Trails member for one year is $203!

When you make a charitable gift to the Girl Scouts of Birch Trails; know that you are contributing to an organization dedicated to developing girls of courage confidence and character in our communities. Your personal gift provides valuable dollars allowing us to offer quality programs, train adult leaders, provide upkeep of our camp properties and much more. The positive influence Girl Scouting has on the lives of girls stands out in their families and communities.

Options for Giving

How can you contribute? Your monetary contribution can be a one time gift or a pledge. Just think, a $10 monthly pledge will provide $120 of support to the Girl Scout program! All contributions remain in the Girl Scouts of Birch Trails Council to serve our girls. Contributions are tax deductible.

Your gift can be made by sending a check or using your credit card (Visa or Master Card). Please call Laura Martens at (715) 355-9850 to request a pledge card on which to enter your credit card payment information.

If you wish to make a pledge, we can bill you in monthly, quarterly, or one-time increments from the date of your gift. This enables you to give a larger gift than might be otherwise possible if you had to write just one check.
