Girls make it Girl Scouts. Volunteers make it happen!

Girl Scouts is a membership organization
supported by volunteers.

Volunteers can gain real life skills by helping in a variety of areas. Whether you have just a few hours a month or several hours each week to devote to volunteering, a perfect match can be made for you and Girl Scouts. All that is required is a desire to make a difference in the lives of girls. The energy you share with Girl Scouts will instill in girls confidence that will last a lifetime.

Mission

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage confidence and
character who make the world a better place.

Girl Scout Promise

On my honor, I will try
To serve God & my country
To help people at all times
& to live by the Girl Scout Law

The Girl Scout Law

I will do my best:
to be honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Girls Scouts are girls who have fun, make friends and discover new places! Girl Scouts go camping, care for the environment, sell cookies, help people in the community, make arts & crafts, attend events and much more!

Girls can be a Girl Scout in many different ways,
they can:
  • register as an independent member (Juliette) and attend council wide events and opportunities,

  • join a troop/ group with a group of girls & adults in your area,

  • sign up for Girl Scout camp,

  • join a short term interest group. The council offers programming in some schools, day cares, etc.

  • attend and join at a community event. At times the council partners with community groups and other organizations to provide Girl Scouting.

Girls age 5-17 can join at any time at
different age levels:

Daisy Girls Scouts - Grades K-1

Brownie Girl Scouts - Grades 1-3

Junior Girl Scouts - Grades 3-6

Girls ages 11-17 - Studio 2B and/or
traditional Cadette & Senior Girl Scouts

Every girl and adult participating in Girl Scouts needs to register annually and pay $10 national dues. The full $10 dues is applied to Girl Scouts of the USA to support direct and indirect services to girls and our council in the form of insurance, program resources, training for staff and volunteers and resources for administration.

The membership year term is October 1
thru September 30.
